Long hair can be a delight to style, but it also requires work to keep the hair neat and out of the face. The advantage to this style is that 99% of the hair remains long and loose, but the front is secured off the face in a clean, neat look. When the braids are removed, soft waves frame the face. Many school students with long hair like to try a headband, especially when in fashion and if they find cute or flattering ones. One clear advantage is the headband can quickly be exchanged for a different look at any time. Securing medium and long length hair is important in many types of work. In labor jobs, the hair could get caught in equipment. In food preparation jobs, hair flying free can pose health risks to customers. In the health field, long unruly hair can get in the way during procedures and also looks unprofessional. Many patients become annoyed when a health care worker's hair falls or flops onto the patient's skin. It also can tickle, but when a person is ill they don't appreciate having anything touch the skin. Many patients, especially older females, might even push the hair out of the face of a worker and comment that the long hair is "in the way."
