Because of the polar hydrogen bond in water, it allows for capillary action to draw water up through the thin tubes of the xylem. If not for the hydrogen bonds, there would be no way for water to self transport this way.

Water and minerals are absorbed by the roots and transported through root xylem upward to the leaf cells. The leaf cells perform photosynthesis and convert sunlight, carbon dioxide and water into glucose. The glucose is transported down to the roots via the phloem.

What is the term used to describe the spread of molecules throughout the area?

Epitome spreading is the act of molecules self spreading. It can also be called mimicry. This is when molecules seem to mimic other molecules, but are replicating themselves.

milk is transported throughout other countries by ship they are one of the cargo that ships usually bring

What condition does diffusion eventually lead in the absence of the other influences?

equilibrium because the concentration of molecules will be the same throughout the space the molecules occupy.

Glucose and no other sugar is transported into cells by protein carrier molecules in the cell surface membrane. How do carrier molecules specifically recognize glucose?

the receptors on the protein carrier recognise glucose allowing it to enter the cell :)

Describe the relative concentrations of MPF and its constituent molecules throughout the cell cycle?

MPF - complex of cyclin and cdk that initiates mitosis by phosphorylating protein and other kinases; highest concentration at metaphase Cdk - levels are constant throughout the cell cycle Cyclin - levels vary because it is broken down by MPF after anaphase

What state does diffusion eventually lead to?

Well if the diffusion is not interrupted by other influences it would be equilibrium because the concentration of molecules will be the same throughout the space the molecules occupy.

How do you describe the motion of atoms in a solid?

Atoms move more freelythan they would in a soild or a liquid.

What causes diffusion in the cell?

Diffusion is caused when molecules are moving around and bumping each other in the cell. Collisions cause the molecules to them push apart from one another. Eventually the molecules continue to do this and they spread throughout the area.

How is petroleum transported?

Petroleum and other oil products are transported by tankers. These can be trucks or ships. They can also be transported by pipeline.
