We will start with a simple sentence:
He was shot. This is normal usage.
It can also be wriiten as - Police shot him.
What's the difference? The subject of the sentence. The former has 'He' as the subject. The latter has 'police' as the subject. You feel that the detail of police is missing in the former sentence. You may wirte it as- He was shot by the police.
Tense of sentence remains same. Past tense. You get the same meaning in both the sentences. The tense is expressed in different forms.
When your subject is doing the action--> Active voice
When your subject is receiving the action--> Passive voice
The basic rules for P --> A:
To change a sentence from active to passive voice, do the following:1. Move the active sentence's direct object into the sentence's subject slot2. Place the active sentence's subject into a phrase beginning with the preposition by3. Add a form of the auxiliary verb be to the main verb and change the main verb's formBecause passive voice sentences necessarily add words and change the normal doer-action-receiver of action direction, they may make the reader work harder to understand the intended meaning.http://www.towson.edu/ows/activepass.htm
The most basic difference between active and passive transport is that active requires energy while passive does not. You would require active transport if the substance is going against the concentration of molecules inside and outside of the membrane or if the substance is particularly large. Passive is more for smaller molecules that go with the concentration of the molecules inside and outside of the membrane.

passive transportPassive transport is the term. Active transport is moving of materials WITH energy.Passive transportpassive transportdiffusionDiffusion, but if it's water then it's called osmosis. They're the same basic thing though.diffusion
If you want to change an active voice statement into the passive voice, you have to take the subject and make it into the direct object.Sounds confusing, so here's an example:Active Voice: Lucy walks her dog.Passive Voice: The dog is walked by Lucy.basic rules:a passive verb phrase follows this pattern:be +past participle egpresent simple: The dog is walked (by Lucy).by + noun/noun phrase is the agent and does not have to be included.past simple: Lucy walked the dog --- The dog was walkedpresent continuous: Lucy is walking the dog ---- The dog is being walked.past continuous: Lucy was walking the dog ---- The dog was being walked.present perfect: Lucy has walked the dog ------ The dog has been walked.past perfect: Lucy had walked the dog ---- The dog had been walked.
Sonar is the generic name of the technology that is used to locate objects underwater. Sonar systems are of two basic types - active and passive. In active sonar the system let's out a pulse of sound and then the operator listens for echoes. The passive sonar the operator listens to sounds emitted by the object one is trying to locate.
A sentence may have a subject, a verb and an object.ACTIVEHere is an example of a sentence in the active voice:* "The fox (subject) ate (verb) the chicken (object)."The subject of the verb is doing something, is active, so this sentence is in the 'active' voice.The action is by the subject, ----> upon the object.PASSIVEBut if we focus on the chicken, and make the chicken the subject of the sentence, e.g.* "The chicken was eaten by the fox."....we see that the chicken, the subject, was not doing anything, it was passive in the matter (well, probably not!) in relationship to the verb. The subject, the chicken, was not doing or causing the action, but is/was affected by it.The subject
An active satellite acts as a REPEATER; it amplifies signals received and then retransmits them back to earth. This increases signal strength at the receiving terminal to a higher level than would be available from a passive satellite. A passive satellite only reflects received radio signals back to earth. fr0m: ZIA UR REHMAN D-05-ES-29 DCET Karachi Pakistan.
can you describe the three basic transformations
That's right... If it doesn't require energy it is passive. Take note of the key word 'active' which tells you it requires energy. But you should have a basic understanding of the main ways molecules cross the plasma mebrane
Describe the basic data types in C Describe the basic data types in C
Passive components like capacitors . resistors and coils then there are active components like amplifiers and IC. wires are not electronics anything but just conductors of electrons. rain nerves and heart capacitors resistors, transistor of course wire
