Simply replace the keyboard. You can try to save the keyboard by thoroughly rinsing it in running water and letting dry for two days.
(addition from Kimberly) I don't know if soaking it in water is the best idea, however you can use contact cleaner to clean the key wells and I've used cleaning wipes on the outer part of the keyboard when I spilled liquid on mine
TUrn off your computer , take out the battery , and unplug it . Try to clean out as much of the coke as you can. Leave the keyboard upside down if you have just a keyboard . But if you have a laptop turn it upside down with the screen open and put it in a position so that it looks like a triangle / pyramid.SO THE COKE WILL DRIAN OUT AND EVAPORATE EASIER) LET IT SIT LIKE THIS OVER NIGHT!! Just to let you know i spilled soda on my keyboard recently and did what i just told you and my computer still works perfectly but my keyboard is a little sticky but its wearing off so no big deal , anyways good luck: )
You can try. Depending on the type of computer, it may or may not be ok. If it is a computer with an external keyboard, the keyboard can just be replaced (or possibly even just dried).
Immediately turn the keyboard upside down and leave it that way over night. If it isn't working properly by morning, you will have to get it repaired or replaced. But don't use a hair dryer to try to dry it; the heat could possibly do more damage, and the air flowing into the keyboard could blow the soda further into the keyboard.
It really depends how much and where. If it is a average size cup, and you spill it on your keyboard, it should be fine just clean it and let dry. If you spill it and it gets inside your case, and comes in contact with the power supply or your motherboard; it could cause a short and render your p.c. useless.
You must have spilled something on it or you just have a bad keyboard. I suggest getting a new one with keys that are not too high above the board.
DO NOT try to rinse it off!!!! that's the worst thing you can do. water is just as damaging to a computer/keyboard than any other liquids. the best thing you can do is turn the keyboard upside down (without shaking it) and let it sit that way on a towel for a day or so. hopefully most of the water will come out and it may have no problems. this may not work, though, and the keyboard may be destroyed.
I hope a substantial amount of people view this. When soda spills on the laptop if it still boots to windows and the keyboard does not work. Just buy a new keyboard. First thing is to unplug battery and place upside down. Keep in a warm area and wait a week before using again.
