DHEA is not recommended for men. If testosterone levels are normal, DHEA will turn into estrogen instead. Definitely not the wanted result for a male body builder. DHEA might be a good idea for female body builders who want to slightly raise testosterone levels.

Sometimes birth control pills can help. But it takes a while. Use of anti-androgens help the side effects of excess dhea and might also help lower it as well. Such as metformin, spironolactone, finsteride, etc. If their is excess dhea chances are there is balding and excess hair growth as well. It can also produce unwanted deepening of the voice and mood swings. Sometimes high levels of dhea are a symptoms of poly-cystic ovarian syndrome, and sometimes its a warning sign of an adrenal dys-function. There are two glands in a womans body that makes dhea. Either the ovaries or the adrenals are the culprit. The clue is finding out which one it is first, and then treating it based on that. You can, but that doesn't mean you should. Original Extenze for men and Extenze for women share about 50% of their ingredients. However there are only 3 ingredients you need to focus on: DHEA, Pregnanolone and Yohimbe. In the men's version there is 50mg of DHEA, while in the women's there is 25mg mg. DHEA can be converted into 2 things, androstendiol and androstendione (yes, like bodybuilders took in the 90's). Both can become testosterone (responsible for libido in women as well as men), some of which become estrogens, and androstendione can become estrogens directly. (There are three estrogens.) In the men's version there is 10mg of Pregnanolone, while in the women's there is 50mg. I'm going to give a simplified explanation. Pregnanolone has pathways that contain DHEA, Progesterone and Cortisol. Finally Yohimbe is in the men's but not the women's. Yohimbe has a high frequency of side effects, especially when on anti-depressant, ADHD or other medications. The men's version will give you many of the effects sought, but is not ideal. If you were going to take the men's version I recommend divided doses, minimum 6 hours apart, ideally with a divided dose of pregnanolone (you can buy 120 25mg doses for $10). OR one half men's extenze + 25mg pregnanolone per day.
