The last manned mission to the moon was Apollo 17
Nothing what so ever happened to the Apollo 18 astronauts. The reason being there never ever was a Apollo 18 moon mission. Apollo 17 was the last moon mission launchedby N.A.S.A.
Actually it was Apollo 17 and not Apollo 18 that was the last moon landing mission of N.a.S.A.
The Apollo 17 was the last Apollo Moon mission, as the Missions 18-21 were cancled.
There was no Apollo 18 (the movie is fiction). The last Apollo mission to fly to the moon was Apollo 17. The final flight of Apollo hardware was the Apollo Soyuz Test Project (ASTP) flown in 1973, which never left Low Earth Orbit.

Apollo 18
kinnda, the Apollo missions did exist ( moon landing) and they ended at Apollo 17. they ended because they were VERY expensive and were risky. there was no Apollo 18 sadly. ( it would be fun to go to the moon again!)
He was the first man on the moon On Apollo 18 "Huston we have a problem." Captain of Apollo 18 First man to come back from moon Put American flag on the moon
No. While it is possible and even likely that there will be future missions to the moon, they will not be Apollo missions.
No. Following Apollo 11 were six more manned Apollo Missions; Apollo 12, Apollo13 (did not land on moon), Apollo 14, Apollo 15, Apollo 16, and Apollo 17. (Apollo 18, 19, and 20 were canceled.) However there have been numerous unmanned, robotic, moon missions since then by several different countries.
As soon as NASA landed on the moon back in 1969, the general public started getting less and less interested in space exploration. The logic behind the thinking was that they have beaten the Russians to the moon, why continue to invest money into the program? Not long after the first moon landing of Apollo 11, congress started cutting at NASAs budget and cancelled Apollo 18-to 21. This is just a comment but they acually sent Apollo 18 to the moon and it never returned!
Apollo 11 (AS-506) This was the first lunar landing mission and included the crew members Armstrong, Collins, and Aldrin. Mission Duration: approximately 8 days - 195 hr 18 min 35 sec. Moon rock sample mass returned: 47.8lbs
The final mission of the Apollo moon landing program was Apollo 17 in December of 1972. If anybody claims there was another landing after that they are either misinformed or lying. There was no Apollo 18 regardless of what Hollywood movie producers would like you to think. The capsule built for Apollo 18 was used in Apollo-Soyuz. It was the last lunar-capable capsule built.
