Bella wanted Edward to do anything it took to save Renesme. Usually the child is able to rip through with its teeth but it could not breath. Bella knew that she would be transformed into a vampire anyway and she wanted her daughter safe.

Hey what's up?Well I'm gonna answer your questiontechnically Edward did kill Bella but he turned her into a vampire and the reason is that Bella was pregnant and the half-human half-vampire baby has to bite itself out of the stomach so Edward decides to cut open Bella's stomach he gets out the baby and pull her heart out of her body then ejects venom in it.The baby was Named Renesme nicked name Nessie by Jake.
How did they get renesme out of Bella?
the placenta detached and so they cut her stomach open and pulled renesmee out... Bella technically died but edward injected his venom into her heart and other places and she became a vampire

It mentions Bella breaking many of her bone and not being able to give birth to her baby normally and had to have a C-section... which was created by Edward biting open her stomach.
