It's not easy to tell you when Franklin invented glasses, because they were well documented in Europe prior to 1300, i.e. 500 years before Franklin was born. Ben Franklin did invent a number of other things, including bi-focals.
He didn't. There were lens and spectacle makers in Europe 600 years before Franklin was born. He is credited with the invention of bi-focals. well he invented the glasses in the 1700s which he was tard of taking them of and on that's why he did it so he is pretty smart :):):):)
Ben Franklin did not invent eyeglasses. Eyeglasses have been used in various forms since the late 13th century, predating the kite flying statesman by several hundred years. Italian monks are often mentioned as the originators of the concept. Franklin IS credited however, with the invention of the first "bifocals". Apparently, in the autumn years of life he was frustrated by having to change his "spectacles" for near and far tasks. He put together half lenses of two different pairs into one frame.
Benjamin Franklin experimented with optics and is said to have invented bifocals. He is generally given this credit in historical documents in the US. While there is no clear proof that he was the sole inventor, the inventor of trifocal lenses (John Isaac Hawkins) in 1824 coined the term "bifocal" and credited the term and the invention to Benjamin Franklin.
Franklin did not invent eyeglasses. He did, however, invent a type of bi-focal eyeglasses in 1784. All available evidence points to him being THE inventor of bifocals, but it is not 100% certain.
