Did Betty Broderick deserve imprisonment

Betty Broderick was functioning in a diminished capacity for a least a year before the murders. And in fact her first trial ended in a hung jury. They were on the right track. She was frantic and hysterical but he was cruel to the point beyond endurance. They needed some kind of buffer or mediator and maybe this could have been avoided. By the McNaughten Rule which covers insanity defenses one of the criteria is not trying to hide or cover up the crime. And she absolutely hid nothing. I would not classify this insane but diminished capacity. Broderick will be up for parole soon. Time to let her out to pick up the some of the pieces of her life.
