Yes. Ennis Cosby, the 27-year-old son of the actor-comedian, was murdered in January 1997 near the 405 Freeway in Los Angeles. While attempting to change a flat tire, he was shot to death by Mikhail Markhasev, a Ukranian immigrant. Markhasev later was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
It happened near the Skirball Center off-ramp of the 405 and I have often wished he had had a can of fix-a-flat with him. He might still be alive.
