it is common knowledge that an area in Bateston, Cape Breton is believed to be the property of the late Burl Ives. Local youth congregate here over the summer months where parties take place on the shores of Cow bay. Everyone refers to this area as Burl Ives property and i have been told from residents during my childhood that this was indeed the property of Burl Ives.
