Robert Caillau did help with cern because he was a boss
quoting CERN's public pages: "Where the web was born Tim Berners-Lee, a scientist at CERN, invented the World Wide Web (WWW) in 1990. The Web, as it is affectionately called, was originally conceived and developed to meet the demand for automatic information sharing between scientists working in different universities and institutes all over the world."
It's true the World Wide Web was invented at CERN. More precisely by Tim Berners-Lee 1989, Originally to create an information sharing system for scientists working at different universities and research institutes. The WWW was later refined by Tim Berners-Lee and Robert Cailliau 1990.
Tim Berners Lee was the first to use WWW or World Wide Web. while working at CERN. He did this on the Next type computer models.
The Internet infrastructure has evolved from military computer networks in USA (like Arpanet). However CERN developed the WWW standard, which is the dominant way of accessing pages in the internet today.
The World Wide Web was started by CERN, which is an international organization. It sits on the border between France and Switzerland, but has international jurisdiction. So, one could say that the WWW began outside of any country.
it does not exist anymore, sorry!
The world's first web browser, called WorldWideWeb, appeared in 1990. Developed by Tim Berners-Lee at CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research)
Tim Berners-Lee, a British scientist at CERN, invented the World Wide Web (WWW) in 1989. The web was originally conceived and developed to meet the demand for automatic information-sharing between scientists in universities and institutes around the world.
The CERN (Conseil Europeen pour la Recherche Nucleaire) or The European Counsil of Nuclear Research, in English, made the world wide web. It was made in Switzerland.
CERN was created in 1954.
CERN Courier was created in 1959.
