Darwin worked on his theory for 20 years. After learning that another naturalist, Alfred Russel Wallace, had developed similar ideas, the two made a joint announcement of their discovery in 1858. In 1859 Darwin published 'On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection'.

The theory of evolution was originally presented by Charles Darwin. Since the time of Darwin, there have been many other scientists who have contributed to evolutionary theory. One notable evolutionary scientist of the 21st century is Richard Dawkins.
I think you mean the concept of gradualism and the man is Charles Lyell, whose geological concept proceeded Darwin's biological concept and also gave Darwin his ideas on ages of the earth and gradual processes over time. I can think of not other geologist that was a confidant of Darwin, though Adam Sedgewick, a geologist, was am early teacher of Darwin. He was a catastrophist though.
It is not surprising that Charles Darwin became a scientist-- he came from a family of doctors, botanists, and other scientists. Even as a boy, Darwin was always fascinated by nature, so after graduating from college in England, he became a naturalist. His first job, in 1831, was to assist some scientists who were going on an around-the-world voyage by ship, to study the birds and plants in other countries. After a five year journey, doing research in places like the Pacific Islands and South America, Darwin wrote extensively about what he and the other scientists had observed and discovered. This inspired Darwin to want to devote his life to studying the origins of various species, and to write about his research. So, all of his jobs were related to science and to discoveries about the world of nature.
Charles Darwin used his studies of the tortoises in the Galapogos Islands as part of his theory of Evolution. He noticed that the shape of their shells had evolved to allow them to reach up to eat leaves on plants on the islands which were higher up than leaves which other tortoises ate. Darwin also noted something along these lines with pigeons and their beaks at the Galapogos.

Charles Darwin was the creator of the theory of evolution. It has greatly debated over the years and many other scientists regularly contribute to the modern theory.

•The Darwinian revolution challenged traditional views of a young Earth inhabited by unchanging species •In order to understand why Darwin's ideas were revolutionary -We need to examine his views in the context of other Western ideas about Earth and its life
Darwin was influenced by ideas from other scientists such as Lamarck's theory of acquired traits and Malthus's principle of population. These ideas contributed to Darwin's concept of natural selection as the mechanism for evolution. Ultimately, Darwin's observations and synthesis of these ideas led him to develop his theory of evolution by natural selection, which revolutionized the field of biology.
Charles Darwin's observations were quite interesting. For instance he observed that the animals of the Galapagos Islands were different from other animals.
Charles Darwin had three sisters: Marianne, Elizabeth, and Caroline.

Charles Darwin was the man who produced the theory of evolution, which describes how species of organisms, by a process of natural selection, gradually evolve into other species.

Part of a scientist's job is to publish his ideas, experiments, and theories for other scientists to test and confirm
He was actually 32, and although other sites tell you different, my name is Cassidy Darwin. I was related to Charles, and my family told me with their information that has been passed down from the Darwin family. I hope this helped! Cassidy Darwin
