Charles Taze Russell founded the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. Though many think that he founded the religion, Jehovah's Witnesses, he did not. He also travelled extensively preaching the bible.
Charles T. Russell, a US religious leader, is credited with founding the International Bible Students Association which became the foundation for the Jehovah's Witnesses. I would recommend to check out a DVD that came out this year at a JW convention. visit your local kingdom hall to pick up a copy.
Assuming you mean Charles T. Russell, his father was named Joseph L. Russell and his mother was Ann Eliza (Birney) Russell.
In 1879 Charles T Russel founded "Zion's Watch Tower" which later became "The Watch Tower Announcing Jehovah's Kingdom". In 1884 the "Zion's Watch Tower Tract Society" was incorporated by Russel. The 'Dawn Bible Students' were an organisation separate from what eventually became the Jehovah's Witnesses, as a split occurred after Russell's death. The 'Dawn Bible Students Association' was founded sometime after 1917 to distinguish itself from what later became the much larger Jehovah's Witnesses (the name taken in 1931).

Yes he did. But when Charles Russel was alive, 100 years or so ago, the name of Jehovah was accepted by the churches in general as well. They weren't busy trying to cover up that name like they often seem to be now. You could find the name Jehovah in church hymns, in their Bibles, being used from the pulpits in sermons, and even prominantly displayed in church art such as stained glass. The movement to get rid of the name out of Bibles, hymns, and other places, and to discontinue saying the name, is a reletively new movement, having come along in the last 50 or 60 years. .................................................................... yes he did because people started using the name of JEHOVAH !! at 1500 ,, then the bible students(also known as JEHOVAS WITNESS 1931) started at the year 1870!! sorry I'm not good in English!! hahaha!!
