It depends on the country it spread to. In some places, like Ukraine, Christians encountered almost no resistance to the spreading of their religion. In others, like North Korea, Christian proselytizers are brutally punished and often executed. By and large, Christianity did meet up with resistance, not because of anything inherent in Christianity, but because people do not like to give up their beliefs for those of a stranger's religion.
