No, not all castles have moats around them. In fact most castles do not have moats. The majority of castles are actually built on a hill (or in some cases of some famous German castles, a mountain) to afford a longer range of view. While draw bridges over moats make for good movies the majority of castles do not have moats. It would have been a breeding ground for disease with stagnant water and would have been detrimental to the soundness of the wall. With the advent of the catapult and trebuchet the seige of a castle was, more often, a simple matter of cutting off supplies and waiting out the seige. Why destroy a perfectly good castle you are trying to conquer it? With seige warfare the moat, if anything would have been more decoration then functional. One of the few functional uses for a moat would have been likely to limit the use of ladders to scale the outer wall. In addition a moat would have made having escape tunnels difficult out of the castle\fortress as it would force the tunnel to go under the moat, filled with water, which would likely percolate\penetrate and weaken the tunnel underneath resulting in a cave in and flooding of the tunnel.
No. Hilltop castles rarely do. dover Castle was - and still is - surrounded by a dry ditch.
Yes it did, this was for protecting the castle,
Though they did have a draw bridge going over the water
No, castles do not have have crocodiles in the moat.
Yes they do
A moat surrounded the castle. The moat was a form of defence for castles.
the first kind of castles were moat and bailey castles.
A moat. Whether they really had crocodiles in the moat is a moot question.
the drawbridge and the moat
some do some don't
castles cant be in water although the closeest thing for it to be in water is with a moat around it and if you dont know what a moat is a moat is a place where the castle is surround with water and somethimes filled with crocdiles to help keep intruders at bay

Castles over a moat.
Castles usually defended themselves by having a wall with a moat or ontop of a hill
The water surrounding a castle is called a moat however most castles did not have a moat.
a castles often had a garderobe. These were small seats built into a tiny closet hangging ower the castles moat.
the moat around the castle was there to protect the castle when it came under attack. A moat is basically a circle river dug around the castle. Hope this helps
