Yes, English education enslaved us because it was introduced by British in India so that Indians may loose their self-esteem. It was for their own selfish reasons. It destroys our education system. They say that education is given best in regional languages. For example, China promotes Chinese language and they are a developed nation but Indians follow English and we are still developing.
But this point can be debated. Education in English made it possible for the Indian population to be aware of the motives and schemes of the British. It opened up for them a wide range of opportunities, from development and livelihood to literature and learning. All official records, notices, memos etc today are in English. It is English binds diverse countries together, and so it is rightly called the Universal Language. Without English education, the world would not have made so much of progress in science, technology, knowledge and medicine. English education maintains a uniformity in the education system throughout the country. Because of English education, Indians have been made capable of proving their position in the world, their worth, their ideas, thoughts and their intellect. It is steadily turning into the language of the common man, and is the most spoken language on the earth.
