The feudal system is pretty simple. It can be broken down into 3 parts.
1. The Church who took care of souls
2. The Nobility who were suppose to protect people
3. Peasants/serfs who did all the work.
The Church told the Nobility what they were to do, the Nobility was powerful through the approval of the church as well as having the knights keeping the population in order, and the peasants/serfs worked the land, raised the animals, fought/died in the wars, and paid taxes.
