∙ 8y agoHe lost most of his teeth while he was relatively young and wore false teeth in public. They were made of animal bone or ivory and were not made to eat with but only to help his appearance.
Back in his days, dental care and dentistry was quite primitive. It was common for people to have lost many of their own teeth. And before we'd gotten better at working porcelain, ceramics and plastics, false teeth and dentures were made of just about anything. But wood is an unlikely choice for someone with money. Materials like ivory, bone etc. would be more likely.
