Yes! They tried to show the world they could win war. They were the first ones to use machine guns, planes, tanks... in World War I. Hitler tried to make Germany a big and important country by attacking and conquering other lands. They tried to expand their territory and show the world how powerful they were. Indimitation, is what Germany tried to do to other countries during the I & II World Wars. I guess this is what they thought when they went into war. Hoped it helped!! :)

Others were forced into it by being either threatened or blackmailed by the Nazi party to join. Also Hitler was a very powerful speaker, so some people decided to join him simply because they felt that he was the savior, and that Hitler was going to lead Germany out of their dark days. In fact even some Jewish people wanted to become Nazis in the beginning. Other people felt that the Nazi side was the winning side, and they where afraid to be on the losing side, so they joined.
Hitler's plan was to take over Germany, which he basically succeeded in, and then expend Germany into Russia, so that his country would be twice as big. Afterwards, he was going to expand Russia and Germany into Poland, so to add more land again...In the end he thought that he could take over the entire world...which he obviously did not succeed in, that crazy bastard!
