Yes. The Christian believes that God exists in three persons. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. God the Father remained in heaven while Jesus (the Son of God) came to earth as a baby, lived to manhood, died on the Cross for our sins. Jesus talked to God the Father through prayer while He was on earth and God talked to Jesus. Before Jesus came to earth they talked in heaven. A good example is in Genesis 1:26 "Then God said, Let Us make man in Our image."

∙ 12y agoGod talked to Jesus all the time, not just times that were mentioned in The Bible. Being God's Son, Jesus was is a perfect relationship with His father. God no doubtedly talked to Jesus all the time.

∙ 12y agoAfter the baptism of Jesus, God spoke from heaven to say that Jesus was his beloved son. Again at the Transfiguration, God spoke from heaven to say that Jesus was his beloved son. These were not addressed to Jesus, nor apparently to others present, but to the readers of the gospels.

All we have to do is accept Jesus to be our Lord and savior. When we do that we then have a relationship with God! We can pray through Jesus straight to God. We will also grow closer to him the more we talk to him. If you obey listen and talk to God you will be close to him. The first step is to accept Jesus and publicly be baptized in His name.
