Paul was alive long after the time of King Herod the Great, although there were other Herodian kings in the time of Paul. Nevertheless, there is no evidence that any of them was implicated in the death of Paul.

A second-century tradition says that Paul was killed on the orders of Emperor Nero, but again there is no evidence to support this. The fact that this tradition was not mentioned in Acts of the Apsotles is considered good evidence that it did not happen.We simply do not know how or when Paul died.
