Short barreled shotgun is actually a legal term- it means a shotgun that has barrels less than 18 inches, or an overall length of less than 26". To my knowledge, H&A did NOT make a short barreled shotgun. Information is thin- they went out of business about 1914-1916, but all listings I have seen are for 28 inch barrels.
According to a 2004 standard catalog of firearms, it is worth anything from $100 to $1000 dollars depending on make & model and condition .
Harrington & Richardson did not make a Model 1900. Hopkins and Allen did.
The value of ANY firearm is based on make, model and condition. You gave us the make. Sorry.FWIW, Hopkins & Allen closed their doors for good in 1916. Their guns do not command an extremely high collector's value, but were well made guns. I purchased a 3rd model hammerless side by side H&A in 2012 for $150, in excellent condition. It was 100 years old then.
Probably not, this company apparenly went in and out of business a couple of time during the late 1800's and was finally absorbed by Hopkins and Allen (who continued to make the Bay State Gun) who did not last all that long themselves. Fire arms were just another product in those days and manufacturing records, especially for these smaller co., were rarely preserved.
Very few records. H&A went out of business in 1916.H&A purchased the Forehand Arms Co.and continued to make this model for a few years. In 1902 they offered the forehand double boxlocks with or without outside hammers.Sidelocks were offered from 1906-1909.These different types will hopefully help in getting you close to the year of manufacture of your shotgun.
The value of any firearm is based on exact make, model and condition. You gave us one of the three things we need. Serial number does not tell us the model or condition.
Winchester did not make a model 96 shotgun, they did make a model 97 shotgun however.
no
It was made prior to 1916, since THAT is whe H&A went out of business. Value of ANY gun is based on make, Model, Conditon. Impossible to accurately answer without all 3.
