Jesus did not have children, He did not even marry. When He told the disciple whom He loved (presumably John) that this was his mother (Mary), He was making the point that the spiritual family is the real family, not simply the physical. Notice how Jesus also made a similar point in Mark 3:31-35 saying that those who do God's will (the disciples of Christ) are His true family.
