40 days after his ressurection
Jesus was here for 40 days after He was resurrected. Acts 1 gives an accounting.
40 days. changing some of the instructions he gave during his 3 years physical presence and preaching on earth!
No He Did not. Christ was Crucified about 3 years after His Temptation in the wilderness.
There isn't one. The Bible is very specific that it was Jesus who was Crucified, Died, and Buried in the Tomb for 3 full days and nights. Then it was Jesus who was Resurrected and after 40 days, ascended to His Father and our Father.
After Jesus spent 40 days in the desert being tempted by the devil He traveled to Galilee to begin His ministry in earnest. While there he visited the town He grew up in (Nazareth), then He traveled to Capernium, which is by the Sea of Galilee to start calling His disciples to Himself.
The number forty is one of the time frames God has used to bring about change and miracles in the lives of believers. For example, the children of Israel were in the desert for 40 years, and Jesus was in the wilderness for 40 days. The other two time frames are 7 days and 3 days.
I am not sure where you got the idea that Jesus was on earth for only 40 days. He was born in Bethlehem and was about 30 when he began his public ministry which lasted 3 years. There is a reference to Jesus being tempted in the wilderness for 40 days, but obviously he was on earth much longer than that. IMPROVEMENT - Actually the question refers to when Jesus came back from the dead and lived on earth for 40 days until he ascended to heaven. Why only 40 days? Who knows but the number 40 appears a whole lot in the Bible.
1 wall = 5 men X 8 days = 40 man days 40 man days / 3 men = (40/3) days = 13 1/3 days
There is not just one single passage that specifically states " and Jesus walked for 40 days" after the resurrection. In John chapter 21, some 3 weeks after his resurrection, Jesus appears to his disciples. There are several other accounts of Jesus' appearance to others (Mark 16:14; Luke 24:36-43; John 20:19-31), on the road to Emmaus (Mark 16:12-14; Luke 24:13-35; 1 Cor. 15:5), the great commission (Mark 16:15-18; Matt. 28:16-20; 1 Cor. 15:6-7), promise of the Holy Ghost (Luke 24:44-49; Acts 1:4-8) and his last appearance and ascension (Mark 16:19-20; Luke 24:50-53; Acts 1:9-12) 40 days (in the Bible) is used as a round number to indicate completion or fullness. Other examples of its use... during the flood in rained 40 days Moses fled at age 40, was in Midian for 40 years, and was on Mount Sinai for 40 days Israel wandered in the wilderness for 40 years the spies spent 40 days in Canaan Elijah fasted 40 days Nineveh was given 40 days respite Jesus fasted 40 days and was on earth 40 days after the resurrection
It would have taken around 4-5 days to walk from Galilee to Jerusalem during Jesus' time, as the distance is approximately 70-80 miles. The exact time would depend on the terrain, weather conditions, and the pace of the travelers.
40 hours = 1.666... (recurring) days.1 day = 24 hours40 hours = (40/24) = 1-2/3 days
he was preparing to sacrifice himself and working at strengtheneing his relationship with god the father. also he faced temptatino in the eyes of the desert and showed that life exists without food and water (bare essentials) as long as one has god :D
