Yes, that day would fulfill the 'sign of Jonah' that Jesus gave to prove His being the Christ (see Matthew 12:40). In first century AD Jerusalem, a 24 hour day began and ended at sunset, taking away the need for a measuring device to know the beginning and ending of a day like the Roman world did. Additionally, when we consider the Jewish Feast/Holy Day calendar and the fact that Jesus ate the Passover meal in the evening or start of the Jewish Passover, we realize the Sabbath concerns for burying Jesus the next day before sunset were due to the High Holy Sabbath of the 1st day of Unleavened Bread. Shortly thereafter, The Bible mentions the usual weekly Sabbath that begins on Friday sunset to Saturday sunset.
Therefore, the only scenario that would satisfy all of the above would be a Tuesday evening Passover meal and arrest. A Wednesday crucifixion and death with the burial in the tomb just before sunset and the start of the next day which was the 1st day of Unleavened Bread - an annual High Holy Day. In this scenario, Jesus is in the tomb Wednesday evening just before sunset, Thursday and Friday evenings for 3 nights; and Thursday daytime, Friday daytime and Saturday daytime just before sunset that would start the 1st day of the week, Sunday. This was 3 full days and 3 full nights. He is seen as the dawn is approaching of Sunday morning already risen by the women going to the empty tomb:

Matthew 28:1-6New King James Version (NKJV)He Is Risen28 Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. 2 And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door,[a] and sat on it. 3 His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. 4 And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men.5 But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. 6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

The best year for this scenario is 31 AD.

What do we celebrate on good Saturday?

What day did Jesus rise?

There are many opinions for this question. But more and more biblical students are pointing to the daylight portion of the Passover (days begin and end at sunset in the Bible). Paul calls Jesus our Passover Lamb here:1 Corinthians 5:7New International Version (NIV)7 Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. These same biblical students believe the year was 31 A.D. for various reasons to be addressed in another question. In that year, the Passover was on a Wednesday, 25th of April 31 A.D..

Why do catholics use wafers?

At Jesus' Last Supper, it was the PASSOVER and he ate unleavened bread (no yeast, no rise) as was the Jewish custom. The wafer is unleavened bread.

What happend on Easter?

Easter Saturday is the Saturday after Easter Sunday. It is not, as many people think, the Saturday before Easter Sunday. That is Holy Saturday. It may be Holy Saturday that you are asking about though. Saturday is the Jewish Sabbath, so no work could be done. So very little and nothing of significance happened on Holy Saturday. As it was a day of rest, that's why there was such a rush to get the body of Jesus entombed before sunset on Friday and why Jesus lay in the tomb on Holy Saturday, waiting until Sunday to rise and why the ladies didn't go to prepare the body of Jesus until the first day of the week, which is Sunday. They found he had risen and much later Christians adopted Sunday as their Sabbath in honour of the Resurrection.

When Jesus was crucified on Friday and rose on Sunday how do you come up with Jesus being dead three days?

This story is a fable... a misunderstanding and misrepresentation of the fact that Jesus was murdered on "our Wednesday"... the day when the Passover fell that year in history. The "preparation" the Bible speaks of in the account is NOT for the "weekly Sabbath" on "our Friday night"... but for the "Feast Day," the first day of Unleavened Bread, which falls on the day after that Passover - on "our Thursday" that week. This is one of God's "annual sabbaths" called "high day" sabbaths:"...the Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodied should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day WAS AN HIGH DAY,) besought Pilate..." (John 19:31).The weekly seventh-day Sabbath is NOT a "high day" sabbath... and the "preparation" mentioned in the passage was NOT on "our Friday." It was "our Wednesday night."Jesus was buried hastily before sundown on "our Wednesday evening" because at sundown the "preparation" for the "high day" feast ["our Thursday"] began. That means Jesus had to be raised from the dead JUST BEFORE SUN-DOWN, THREE DAYS and THREE NIGHTS, LATER... the same time of day that He was buried... not at SUN-RISE!So, Wednesday night, Thursday night and Friday night was THREE NIGHTS.And Thursday day, Friday day and Saturday day was THREE DAYS.That's "three days and three nights"... just as Jesus promised... which was the only sign He gave [the sign of Jonah] that would PROVE His Messiahship. [Matt.12:39-40]"...Christ died for our sins ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES; and that He was buried, and ROSE AGAIN THE THIRD DAY ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES..." (I Cor.15:3-4).Which means that Jesus was raised from the dead on "our SATURDAY EVENING [on the weekly Sabbath] - JUST BEFORE SUNDOWN... not on "our Sunday morning."Good Friday and Easter are fables that God has not commanded man to observe in His Word, the Bible... and it's just another meaningless and false religious vanity observed by men in the world.Christ is our "Passover"... not our "Easter." [I Corinthians 5:7].

Why does Good Friday fall on a Friday?

Good Friday is the day on which we remember Jesus being crucified. In the Gospels, Jesus was crucified on the day before the Sabbath (which was Saturday) to rise on the third day afterwards (on the Sunday). Therefore as Jesus was crucified on a Friday, the day on which we remember the crucifixion, is always a Friday.

What kinds of foods are kosher for Passover?

They are foods without Chametz. Chametz is anything with flour that was let to rise. Kosher for Passover food must also be processed within 18 minutes so the dough doesn't have time to rise. It also has to be uncontaminated with dough that is not kosher for passover anymore and there needs to be a thorough cleaning between each batch.
