Jesus had 4 brothers listed in this Scripture and at least 2 unnamed sisters (plural):
Matthew 13:55-56New International Version (NIV)55 "Isn't this the carpenter's son? Isn't his mother's name Mary, and aren't his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas? 56 Aren't all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?"
4 brothers and 2 or more sisters. (Ps 69.8, Matt 13.55).
Does away with Mary only having one child (Matt 1.25)... as the catholics teach.
"Other" than what?Roman Catholic doctrine is that not only was Mary a virgin at the time of Jesus' birth, she remained one for the rest of her life, and the references to Jesus' "brothers" really mean "cousins" or something. Most Protestant religions say that the references in the Bible to Jesus' brothers really mean brothers (well, half-brothers, or at least apparent brothers, depending on exactly how much they think Mary had to do with the whole thing), and that Mary and Joseph were a normal husband and wife after Jesus' birth. So, you pays your money and you makes your choice.Jesus had many brothers and sisters, and was the oldest. One of his cousins was John the Baptist
Little Brothers of Jesus was created in 1933.
After Jesus' birth, Joseph and Mary had other children, Jesus' half brothers and sisters. From the scriptures we can conclude that Jesus had four brothers, and at least two sisters. ((Matthew 1:25; 13:55, 56; Mark 6:3)
Mark 6:3 and Matthew 13:55-56 says James, Joseph, Judas (not the betrayer) and Simon were all brothers of Jesus. Also has sisters mentioned. They were sons and daughters of Mary and Joseph so younger than Jesus
This is a matter of disagreement amongst Christians. Most Protestants would say that Mary had other children after giving birth to Jesus. The Gospel does refer to 'brothers and sisters' of Jesus. Catholics, Orthodox and Coptic Christians say that Mary had no other children apart from Jesus. They point out that Aramaic word for brother also means cousin.
The two writers are Jude and James. They are Jesus' younger half-brothers.
Example: Let's say my mother gave birth to me and then something happened to my father and then later my mother married another man and had 3 more children. We would all have the same mother but different father's so we would be half brothers and sisters. Jesus' mother was Mary and Jesus' father was God (by the Holy Spirit). then Mary and Joseph were married and had children. Jesus and his brothers and sisters all had Mary as their mother, but Jesus' father was God and the other children's father was Joseph, making them Half brothers and sisters.
Jesus had two brothers Jude and James. ^^ THE BIBLE GIVE US MORE NAMES, THEN THE ABOVE TWO MENTIONED. SEE Mark 6:3 and Matthew 13:55
Joseph, the husband of Mary His mother. Although to be quite explicit, Jesus brothers were only half-brothers since Joseph was not Jesus' father but God.
The Bible says nothing about Jesus' brothers putting him in anything... however, Joseph, son of Jacob in the Old Testament part of the Bible, was thrown into a well by his brothers.
Jesus's brothers and sisters fled Jeruselem, then became Christians and preached after his death.
We know of Saint James, perhaps three other brothers (whose names we do not know), and sisters.
