But the character of Jim Branning is not yet dead in the soap but is most likely to be killed off the show in an off-screen death at somepoint in the very near future at an later date. So there for this means he may possibly have an on-screen funeral to mark the end of his character as A big tribute to the late actor. John had a stroke in 2007 just seven year's before his death, and also in EastEnders the character of Jim Branning suffered a stroke too. This is why Jim Branning had trouble speaking and walking as John Bardon couldn't walk for 6 months after the stroke and he had been trying to learn to talk as well as he did before the stroke.
