These two links offer some evidence that the whiskey was likely iced tea.

http://www.moviemistakes.com/film67/page3 -- read part of the way down the page or do a ctrl-f search for "tea." This is just someones opinion that the liquid foams more than whiskey should have in that circumstance, but its a valid observation. watch for the foam as he finishes the bottle

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,208172,00.html -- this one is about alcohol abuse and mentions the scene in question. the article's author says that it was iced tea provided by the film's director instead of whiskey. again, just search (ctrl-F) for "tea" on the page once it loads.

here's a link to the actual scene from YouTube -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnVKkJFYkhg&NR=1
