Did John McCain pal around with terrorists?

I haven't heard of him palling around with terrorists, but apparently he palled around with Mafia or racketeers as in the Keating five. ---- What McCain and Palin try to hide is that McCain has his own Ayers -- in the form of G. Gordon Liddy. Now a conservative radio talk-show host, Liddy spent more than 4 years in prison for his criminal role in the 1972 Watergate burglary. That was just one element of what Liddy did, and proposed to do, in a secret White House effort to subvert the American Constitution and U.S. Electoral Process. Far from repudiating Liddy, McCain has embraced him. How close are McCain and Liddy? Closer than Obama and Ayers. In 1998, Liddy's home was the site of a McCain fundraiser. Over the years, he has made at least four contributions totaling $5,000 to McCain's campaigns -- including $1,000 in 2008. Last November, McCain went on his radio show. Liddy greeted him as "an old friend," and McCain sounded like one. "I'm proud of you, I'm proud of your family," McCain gushed. ---- Gordon Liddy?! That's the best you can come up with?! Liddy could be called a burglar, but not a terrorist. The intent behind the Watergate breakout was not to use terror to achieve political goals. No bombs were detonate; no lives were risked; in fact, if they hadn't been caught in the act, no one would have ever known about it. I'm not trying to justify Liddy's actions - they are indefensible. But they were not in the same league with Ayers's actions. Furthermore, Liddy did what he did because he loved his country, while Ayers's actions were motivated by hatred of his country. And, finally, John McCain has made no attempt to hide or misconstrue his relationship with Liddy, as Obama has with Ayers. You forgot to mention that Liddy is a convicted felon whereas Ayers is still innocent until proven quilty. And Obama has renounced Ayers whereas McCain has embraced Liddy (I guess maybe Liddy is exactly the kind of guy McCain could use right now).
