In cases like this the best we can do is to look at the evidence and go where it takes us. Evidence from the crime scene (Ramsey home), JonBenet's body (cleaned after death), the ransom note (written on Ramsey paper with a Ramsey pen), the autopsy reports (two), Ramsey's statements and behavior (suspicious to seasoned detectives).

FBI reports state the crime scene was staged, somebody had time to kill the child, scrub the body to eliminate evidence, write a multiple paged, rambling ransom note, hide the body in a remote room in the Ramsey's cellar that almost nobody (including some of their closest friends) knew about, enter and leave the Ramsey home leaving no evidence whatsoever, including, but not limited to, leaving no footprints in undesturbed snow around the Ramsey home.

Whoever killed JonBenet spent quite some time in the home. Criminals do not spend this kind of time in a strange home, the danger of detection could come at any time. Kidnappers are in and out in mere minutes, ransom note written, prepared in advance, short and sweet with just the essentials included. Even if the victim is killed, either at a later date or in the commission of the crime, the body will not be left. Dead or alive the kidnappers try to get what they want in exchange for the victim. Leaving the body defeats this purpose and makes no sense at all.

Add all of this to the behavior of the Ramseys in the hours and days following the death of their daughter makes for a strong case that clearly eliminates a kidnapping and/or intruder theory. This is where the evidence brings us, right at the Ramsey's door.

What happen to JonBenet Ramsey parents after the murder?

With the murder of their daughter the Ramseys were tried and convicted in the press and public opinion, and rightly so. Their demeaner after the crime was suspicious. Their stories were lame and didn't fit the crime scene. But there is no doubt that the Ramseys suffered greatly. Several years after JonBenet's death Patsy succumbed to ovarian cancer. It remains to be seen if the stress of her daughter's death hastened her own death. John Ramsey sold his business and has since remarried and lives in another state with his new wife. JonBenet's older brother Burke is an adult now, leading his own life. I always have the hope that someday Burke Ramsey will tell the real story of what happened in that house in Boulder on Christmas night. I would understand if he did not while his father is still alive. And JonBenet would be an adult now, had she lived. There will probably never be justice for that beautiful little girl.
