The Bible says that the Israelites entered Canaan around 1400 BCE and conquered the people there, to build a great nation.

Scholars say that the Israelites were always in Canaan, because they were really dissident Canaanites who left the coastal cities to settle in the sparsely populated mountainous Canaanite hinterland. This occurred shortly before 1200 BCE, without Exodus from Egypt or the military conquest described in the Bible.

According to the Book of Exodus, Joshua and Caleb took a group of Israelite spies across into Canaan. This does not mention any Egyptians in the party, and we hgave no extra-biblical evidence for the event. The Egyptians were, however the controlling power in Canaan at the time, so they would have been present in force whereever Joshua and Caleb went. As to accompanying Joshua and Caleb, the Egyptians were unlikely to have assisted in spying on their own forces.

Yes. They both entered the land. Joshua was the leader of the Israelites entering the land 40 years after going out of Egypt.
