A hank of yarn is a ring of yarn. This ring is generally then twisted on itself, and one end pulled through the opposite end, to create a shape like a braid. From a hank, you would generally roll a ball of yarn so that it is easier for you to use without the hank getting all tangled and pulled taut or out of shape.

Its hard to pinpoint comic characters ages. Althought Hank is incredibly smart, and looks a bit older (especially in the movies) - looking at comics i'd say when he first joined the first X-men team he still wasnt much older. my guess Somewhere in his late thirties, possibly early fourties. ~ They never really specify. Marvel characters seem to age much, much slower than real life. If we compare the ages of Beast and Cyclops when the series first came out, they were about two to three years apart; therefore, if we assume that Cyclops (who ages more visibly) is in his thirties, that means that Beast is in his thirties.
