Mother Teresa was a sister of the Missionaries of Charity and its founder. Her job was to discern the will of God and do her best to follow it. This caused her to "wear many hats" to carry out her God-given mission. Sometimes she was a teacher, sometimes a nurse, sometimes a social worker, sometimes she was called to simply sit at the bed of a dying person, comforting them as they made the transition.

Mother Teresa did not evangelize until she was ordered to by Pope John Paul II and only did so because she had taken a vow of obedience. Working to help the poor was still her main focus, however.

Mother Teresa "I am not sure exactly what heaven will be like, but I know that when we die and it comes time for God to judge us, He will not ask, 'How many good things have you done in your life?' rather he will ask, 'How much love did you put into what you did?'" Another answer from our community:Mother Teresa was poor as a result of her accomplishments because she spent most/all of her money on the Missionaries of Charity. Roman Catholic Answer Mother Teresa was a religious under vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. She was materially poor - the Sisters are not permitted to own anything, not even the habit that they wear. But she was rich in God's love and in charity, she was rich in the things that count, the only things that you can take to the next world.
