As of February 2015 a second miracle has not been proven. Her first miracle was to cause a cure to take place in an Indian woman named Monica Besra. The woman had been suffering from a huge tumor for years and medicines had failed to stop its growth or remove it. One evening the picture of Mother Teresa was placed on her abdomen while all the sisters in the Mother House prayed for a cure. The very next day the tumor had vanished without a trace.
Mother Teresa's recognized miracle by the Catholic Church was the healing of a tumor in the abdomen of Monica Besra in 1998, which was attributed to Mother Teresa's intercession.
An additional miracle still needs to be investigated before Mother Teresa can be canonized.
As of early March 2012, Mother Teresa has not been canonized, she has been beatified (declared Blessed), they are still investigating her cause for canonization.
In 1989 Mother Teresa suffered her second heart attack.
Mother Teresa, as of April 2013, has been beatified but is not yet a canonized saint. According to Catholic tradition, two verifiable miracles are needed in order to be eligible for sainthood. For the first miracle, required for beatification, the Vatican has recognised the healing of a tumour in the abdomen of an Indian woman, Monica Besra, after the application of a locket containing Mother Teresa's picture. Besra said that a beam of light emanated from the picture, curing the cancerous tumour. Dr. Ranjan Mustafi, who had been treating Besra, said that the cyst was not cancer at all but a cyst caused by tuberculosis. He said, "It was not a miracle.... She took medicines for nine months to one year." According to Besra's husband, "My wife was cured by the doctors and not by any miracle." A second miracle will lead to Mother Teresa's canonisation as a saint, although the first miracle is open to doubt at this stage.
She will probably be canonized in 2016. Her miracles are:1.) In 2002, the Vatican recognized as a miracle the healing of a tumor in the abdomen of an Indian woman, Monica Besra, after the application of a locket containing Mother Teresa's picture.2.) In December of 2015, the Vatican confirmed that Pope Francis recognized a second miracle attributed to her involving the healing of a Brazilian man with multiple brain tumors.
A:Acording to Catholic tradition, a single miracle is required for beatification. For this, the Vatican has recognised the healing of a tumour in the abdomen of an Indian woman, Monica Besra, after the application of a locket containing Mother Teresa's picture. Besra said that a beam of light emanated from the picture, curing the cancerous tumour.Dr. Ranjan Mustafi, who had been treating Besra, said that the cyst was not cancer at all but a cyst caused by tuberculosis. He said, "It was not a miracle.... She took medicines for nine months to one year." According to Besra's husband, "My wife was cured by the doctors and not by any miracle. Nevertheless, this new information does not invalidate her beatification, and a second miracle will lead to Mother Teresa's canonisation.
I am sure she will eventually be canonized. According to Catholic tradition, two verifiable miracles are needed in order to be eligible for sainthood. While she was still alive many people considered her a saint. She is now well on her way to be officially recognized as such by the Church. She has been beatified and is waiting on a second miracle to be investigated before she can be canonized.
