They did not so much give it up as the program came to and end and further funding was not forthcoming.
NASA was created to help the US 'catch up' to Russia in the space race.
The science done at NASA to be able to do some of the things involved in space exploration has spinoffs that end up being used in everyday processes here on the ground.
NASA, or the North American Space Agency, is directly involved in the exploration of, and collection of information about outer space. The NASA website reports on programs for kids still in school, but for adults, a college degree or military service is required.
There is no evidence to support the claim that NASA has found life on Mars and is covering it up. Both NASA and the European Space Agency are actively engaged in Martian exploration and share findings with the scientific community. Any discovery of life on Mars would be a groundbreaking revelation and would not be kept secret.
the cost of explorations was like things he had to give up on going on this exploration such as he had to give up his life for the long journey
Expedition 18, due planetside in April 2009, is made up of: * NASA astronaut Michael Fincke, commander and, * Russian Federal Space Agency cosmonaut Yury Lonchakov, flight engineer, * Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency astronaut Koichi Wakata, * NASA astronaut Sandra Magnus, flight engineer * NASA astronaut Greg Chamitoff, flight engineer
Well, NASA basically launches rockets and the space shuttles. (For their names read after 2.) They had the Apollo program, the Viking program, etc. NASA tests brave people to see if they have what is qualified to join, if so, that person can join NASA. 1. Apollo: obtusely went to Luna. Viking: Missions to mars. (launching rovers) 2. 1st: Colombia. 2. Challenger. 3.Discovery. 4. Atlantis. 5. Enterprise. Colombia: This was the first shuttle of NASA's It disintegrated during reentry... Challenger: NASA'S second shuttle. It blew up during flight, major malfunction! Discovery: I believe it was the first to dock successfully with a satellite. Nice shuttle. Atlantis: I don't know much about it, It flew successfully. Enterprise: Citizens where curious about NASA's shuttles, so they made Enterprise, It never made a flight, until present day! And It never will.
JFK
the 1st space shuttle launched was gh5-911 and it blew up and the crew member bobett died because he smelled bad
The space shuttle Columbia was used by NASA for various missions, including deploying satellites, conducting scientific research in space, and servicing the Hubble Space Telescope. It was the first space shuttle in NASA's fleet and played a key role in advancing space exploration.
NASA did not discover Mars. The planet has been known about for over 500 years. Being that it is visible from Earth, nobody is entirely sure who first discovered Mars, but it isknown that the first man to view Mars through a telescope was Galileo Galilei in 1609.
NASA was established as an organization on July 29, 1958.
