Napoleon did not allow women to go to school. He only allowed wealthy men to attend. They men were to be taught a limited curriculum, about how GREAT NAPOLEON WAS> I think he was a bad guy :)

In this, he was simply a child of his era, and of the existing French laws and customs that didn't allow many rights to women. It did not help that his own wife Josephine de Beauharnais was famous for her tantrums, her infidelities and her spectacular spending habits. These things tend to influence a husband's views on how much rights and freedoms women should be granted.

(Napoleon did receive the Last Rites of the Catholic faith on St. Helena.)

Menstruation can only hinder a woman's success if they allow it to. Some women use it as an excuse to take off work or school. Most women do not have severe enough symptoms to warrant that.
Because the idea was at this time that women had to take care of the work at home and had to spend time to raise the family so they didn't have time for school and men didn't allow them to go to work and women were sort of viewed as property back then.
Sonography school would allow you to earn an associate's degree. Basically, what sonography school would teach you is how to properly use the equipment used to take sonograms for pregnant women.
