It's not just the Australian Shepards, wolves as well as almost all Dog Breeds can be born heterochromic, as can humans. They were however considered sacred as the belief goes if one of the eyes was a normal brown, otherwise normal color it could see only the plain of Earth, the world here, but the other eye, the abnormal color most likely to be blue or green, sometimes bright amber, could see into other dimensions, most commonly heaven and hell, though some tribes did not hold the belief of hell, most only believed in a positive place to go to, negative only being brought about when a famine or plague was present.
