Most definitely. All astronauts are required to have at least a college degree. The Mercury, Gemini and Apollo astronauts all had aerospace engineering degrees, except the 6 scientist astronauts who were selected in the 4th group back in 1966.
Armstrong himself obtained a BS degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Purdue in 1955, and he earned his doctorate from the University of Southern California in 1970, after he walked on the moon. After earning his doctorate, he began teaching aerospace engineering at the University of Cincinnatti.
Neil Armstrong took various equipment and supplies with him on his journey to the moon, including a spacesuit, portable life support system, camera, and communication equipment. He also brought tools and instruments for conducting experiments and collecting samples from the lunar surface.
