Biddle was the president of the bank and certainly did not intend to kill it, but his challenge to Andrew Jackson to have the charter renewed in an election year did result its demise, so in a sense he helped kill it.
national bank
NO he did not
Because they thought that creating a national bank run by the federal government, would give too much power to the federal government. Jeffersonian Republicans wanted states rights and they saw a creation of a national bank as unconstitutional.
In Jackson's own words: "The Bank, Mr. Van Buren, is trying to kill me, but I will kill it!" And kill it he did. In 1832, the Bank had to be re-chartered, and because Jackson's intentions were known, the Bank became a major election issue. But when the time came, Jackson vetoed the charter and disbanded the bank. The funds went to local banks and western "pet banks."
I am not sure what you mean by "represented". His veto was based on his long-standing position that this 2nd bank of the US was an agency which helped to establish a ruling class in the US and bad for the majority of the people. The bill was politically timed to force Jackson to make the bank a campaign issue in the election of 1832. (The charter did not expire until 1834, so there was no reason to recharter it at the time of the bill.)Let ME give you a clear answer k... um Jackson's veto was dealt to the composition of the second bank of the U.S. because Nicholas Biddle (bank's director) decided to push for a bill to renew the Bank's charter in 1832. Jackson claimed he "would kill it" and true to his word, he vetoed the legiskation when congress sent it to him. So that's the significane okay? :)Hope it helped... i hope lol. :D
Jackson killed it by campaigning against the renewal of its charter and when that effort succeeded, he sped its death by ordering federal funds to be withdrawn from it.He became president and took back all of the government loans, so then the bank had no money. which killed the bank
Andrew Jackson removed all of the money from the second national bank and moved it all into 23 "pet banks". Historians still debate today whether or not his actions were legal because the bank still had 4 years left under its charter.
