My husband and I have known Robbin Cooke for 4 years since our 2006 Carnival Pride cruise. Robbin Cooke is an amazing oldies musician. He has admitted to us numerous times that he was not an original member of the Youngbloods. He met the keyboardist who was an original member and toured with the band in the 1980's during a reunion tour. The members of the Youngbloods gave Robbin rights to claim he was a member of the "RCA Recording Group know as the Youngbloods". Robbin is an honest hard working musician and he is not a fraud.

Is Robbin Cooke a member of Youngbloods?

My husband and me have known Robbin Cooke for 4 years since our 2006 Carnival Pride cruise. My wife and I met Robbin in early August of 2010 aboard the Carnival Pride. Like all of you, I have been interested in music for a very long time and so his shows were of great interest to me. Unlike all of you, however, I really do not care all that much if somebody tells a lie to boost their ego or claims to be someone they are not in order to sell themselves to an audience or even if they stretch the truth a little to make themselves sound cool. It really is not that important to me. I am an adult and I have greater priorities than that of caring who is whom and whether or not somebody maybe exaggerating. So, I was on the Carnival cruise on vacation, in order to relax, and on that ship, I chose to listen to Robbin's performances. Sure, he told me the same story, but I never thought to doubt him or to question it, simply because I did not care. I was there to be entertained and to have a good time, not to care about whether or not Robbin Cooke was lying to me or not. I know my wife just assumed that he may have been telling a story, but that did not keep her from enjoying the shows. We kept coming back to his shows because we liked his music, not his stories. Therefore, having absolutely no opinions for or against, nor any bias, I can give you all a fair and honest answer, because I have nothing to prove, nor do I care about being right or wrong. I have spoken to Robbin many times on that trip and we exchanged phone numbers and became friends and kept in touch by phone and by mail. He no longer works for Carnival and now resides in Jackson, MS. What I can tell you is that his story has never changed, he is able to answer related questions with reasonable and realistic answers in a calm manner, and he remembers what those answers are. Somebody who was lying would be changing stories all the time and not remember anything. Robbin has sent me pictures and recordings that prove his stories as true, and even a few of his band mates confirm the stories. Listen, my point is this: I would not care anyway if I found out that he was lying or if he told me that the stories were not true, because the man is my friend and I can see beyond all of that. When we talk, I am talking to Robbin Cooke, the individual, not the Youngblood member. So, I mean, why would he lie to me anyway, if he knew that I really don't care and I have no intentions on judging him or holding his stories against him? What would be the point? And furthermore, if he were going to lie, why would he choose some one-hit wonder like the Youngbloods anyway? Why not be the fifth Beatle or something? And why stop at the Youngbloods, why not also have been in Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and Iron Butterfly? And besides, even if he were lying, do you all realize how much legal trouble he could get in if he were to be caught? He's been telling Carnival cruise guests for over 6 years now that he was in the Youngbloods, not as an original member, but still he has been telling thousands of people this stuff. Don't you think he would have been caught and sued by now? And the fact that he didn't get into trouble should prove that he is telling the truth. Besides, why would he lie and risk getting into so much hot water just to work on a cruise ship? Don't you think he might be smarter than that? I am not just defending him because he is a good friend of mine, but also because of common sense. Think about it. And for all of you who still think that he is lying about his association with the Youngbloods, who cares? I mean, if this means so much to you that you have to be asking about it on the Internet, then obviously you enjoyed his shows. So, if the man gave you a good show and entertained you and made your vacation more enjoyable and you had a good time listening to him and you really liked him, then why not just be grateful? Why pick at him and question his honesty and integrity and try to "out" him like this? I mean, I can tell you that he is telling the truth, but even if for some reason he was not, or if you still chose not to believe him, then still - still, why does it matter? If you enjoyed his performances and his music, then what is the problem? Why would you let some trivial detail make you enjoy his shows less? The guy is telling you all the truth, so none of this really matters, but even if those of you who doubt him were to find out otherwise, you still don't have a point because still, none of this matters. The man is an entertainer. If you were entertained, then he did his job. Look, I am just trying to say, let the guy alone. He is who he says he is. Just be grateful that he performed for you and stop attacking him. He is a human being and he has feelings too, so rather than attack his credibility or his reputation, just be thankful that you had the opportunity to meet him.
