St. Lucy was made a saint because of her big miracle. It's a truly amazing story. You see, the basic part was this, her mother was very sick, and they would both take time every day to prat together. They prayed and prayed, and one day, her mother was just, cured.Later, Lucy said to the man whom which Lucy's mother had set her up to marry, "I cannot marry you, for I am married to my faith". At this point in history, Christianity was illegal, and the man turned Lucy in.When the men tried to move her, they found she was as heavy and sturdy as a mountain, and couldn't move her. They decided to burn her, so they poured gasoline on her and set her on fire, but to no effect. They poked her eyes out, and not only did she not die, she could faintly see. Finally, they stabbed her with a sword, and she died. St. Lucy was a miraculous person that anyone and everyone should admire.

Mother Angeline has been declared Venerable, this is the first step towards being declared a saint, but a long way from that, and many people who are declared venerable are never declared saints. If the inquiry into her life comes up good, and a miracle through her intercession is proved, then she will be beatified, again, still not a saint, that would require more time and another miracle. See the link below for more information on Mother Angeline.
