Paine pushed for complete independence which then lead to the Revolution. He was a British born writer who had recently moved to the colonies to pursue writing. He published many newspaper articles and wrote books, such as, Rights of Man, written in 1791, it emphasized that rights could not be implied by a charter, because the charter meant that these rights could be revoked and reduce priveleges.

No. Paine wrote "Common Sense". We know without a doubt that Jefferson with the help of Jay and Adams wrote the Declaration. John Adams writes that he thought that Jefferson was the perfect person to do it.

I must respectfully disagree with you. We don't know for a fact that Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence but we do know that it is more likely Thomas Paine wrote It.

Some of the evidence that I would give you comes from a man named Andrew J. Galambos. You can hear what he has about the subject from an old recording of one of his classes on this subject.http://galambos.com/ go to that site and you like me will be convinced that the man who often wrote under an assumed name, wrote what we now call the Declaration of Independence. Again the site is...
