Probably. one of his big hits- Mony Mony did not refer to the Green Stuff or the comic-book character Mon-El, ( some say it did) but to the flashing lights on the 55th and Broadway Weather Tower of the Mutual Of New York insurance building! The MONY weather tower was activated in l965 and is still active. The idea uses computer-controlled flashing strobe lights to among other things indicate rising and falling temperature trends ( ascending or descending lights) color changes on the beacon for basic weather types, and at the base- forked on a V-angle and in contrasting colors- a digital clock ( Red) and thermometer ( Blue) giving time and temperature. This weather tower was written up in period guide books to NYC! So Tommy James and the Shondells were a New York area group.
To the best of my knowledge, no he was not.
Having checked a somewhat incomplete log of entertainment acts who performed at the PARK, they are not mentioned. It is conceivable they did perform, but they were all over the map in their heyday- including Berlin.
My research does not come up with a company called Palisades Insurance. There is however a Palisades Car Insurance site run by Plymouth Rock Assurance company. If there ever was a "Palisades Insuance" company it's first branch would most likely have opened in Palisades.
Italian Film Festival in July of l968. Not given ( turbo-alternator) publicity, by the way. She served as judge in the Film Festival Queen pageant. A former Miss Italy, she had the right background for the judgeship. Those were the days.

James played with Ben Pollack, then became famous with Benny Goodman before starting his own band in 1939. His connection with Tommy Dorsey was that his was the first name band to feature a young singer named Frank Sinatra, who was soon hired away by Tommy. And the rest, as they say, was history.
He is the greatest baseball player ever.
