There were a lot of countries involved in ww2 like Nazi germany , UK and the Soviet union who were in the allies and the japanese who were in the axis
At the end of ww2, the axis powers were Germany and Japan. At the beginning of WW2,the axis was Germany, Italy, and Japan. The primary countries the U.S and its allies fought were Germany, Japan, and Italy. This is an easy one, the US mainly fought Japan, Germany, and Italy.Everyone says that the USA joined WW2 because of the Attack on Pearl Harbor. But the main forces involved in WW2 were the Allies (France + Britain) versus Germany and Italy? I believe my textbook said that Germany Italy (unwilling, yet under a Mussulini/in-direct Hitler rule) declared war on the USA...but does not state why!The Germans- the Italians- the Japanese and a few other small countriesTheir partners or Allies included the Soviet Union, Chinese (both Nationalist and Communist), the Free French, Forces from the Polish Government in Exile, the UK, and others. The US fought the Japanese and the Germans in WW2.The Axis powers (Italy, Germany, Japan).WWI was the Central Powers (Germany/Austria & Ottoman Empire).

France was part of the allied forces (America, UK, Australia etc.) until it was taken over by Germany, the Nazis made France into a "puppet" nation and than ordered them to fight against the allies. They began on the allied side, but were forced to surrender and join the axis forces after being conquered by the Nazis.

They fought with the Germans and Japanese against US, UK, USSR and France, Poland
The UK along with the Allied Forces defeated the Nazi Germans and won the Eastern European Theater of Operations. In the Pacific Theater, The UK colonies sent their Royal Forces to fight with the US Forces. So the UK also helped to defeat the Japanese. So they won World War 2 with the aid of the allied forces. The UK however continued to struggle with a depressed economy for another ten years. They had to remain on food and product rationing. It took them all the way to the 1990s to pay their war debt back to the USA. Winston Churchill lost his bid for the Prime minister position but he won it back years later. The people of England struggled to get the rubble cleared out and new homes built but they did it.
