Yes: Advisors, Green Beret, SEALs, Rangers, LRRPS, ARPs, Snipers. All were fairly good at jungle warfare.

US fighters are better now...they all have guns on them! If it hadn't been for the Vietnam War, they'd all just have missiles.
When Afghanistan jet fighters are fighting US jet fighters. When Afghanistan tanks are fighting US tanks. When Afghanistan warships are fighting US warships. When Afghanistan soldiers are fighting US soldiers. Then it will be like Vietnam. Right now, it just a law enforcement issue; finding terrorists, arresting them, or terminating them.
In the Vietnam War the US opposed the invasion of South Korea by North Korea. The fighters from North Korea, who used guerilla tactics, were known as the Viet Cong.
Other than some jungle training (and equipment) it was already ready.

They didn't. They were in the jungle and it is hot and muggy so most of the time they were too.
The US M16 (AR15) was considered a "jungle rifle" by the US Army in the 1960s. The "Jungle Rifle" was only issued to US troops in jungle terrain (Central America, South Vietnam, South America, etc.). The official US Rifle during this period was the M14 rifle which was issued to all other US Soldiers & Marines everywhere else in the world including the US.
