Not really, he would have actually taken the whole of England quicker, if it hadn't been for bad weather. As he could not set sail for England with his army until the wind had not been so gusty in the English Channel. As Harold was fighting Hardradra, the king of Norway he would have been delayed and this would have given William the time to take the whole of England. Though as William was held up with weather, this gave Harold time to beat Hardrada. Then William invaded, Harold then set his army across the country to fight William, though Harold's army were tired they were winning as they had the height advantage (they were on a hill). and a strong line of defence (a wall of shields). According to a record at the Bayeux tapestry, the weather was perfect the air was warm and the sun was out. So I can not really believe that it was pouring down with rain the next day when the shield wall broke and William had officially won the battle. I hope I have given a good answer.

No, William did not win The Battle of Hastings solely because of the weather. While the weather played a role in affecting the battle conditions, including the wind blowing Harold's arrows off target, it was not the sole determinant of the outcome. William's military strategy, better organization, and the tactics employed by his forces also contributed to his victory.
