A:
No. Jesus appears not to have been arrested before his trial and crucifixion. It was the apostle Peter who, in Acts of the Apostles, was supposedly freed from prison by angels - twice.
A hidden theme in Acts of the Apostles is a comparison between Peter and Paul, such that Peter always comes across as the more worthy apostle, so we will find quite a number of very similar miracles performed by both Peter and Paul, but in each case Peter's miracle was even more awe-inspiring than the miracle associated with Paul. Peter and the apostles were released from prison by an angel in Acts 5:19. Then in Acts 12:6-10, Peter was imprisoned between two soldiers and bound by two chains, but an angel came and freed him and then accompanied Peter from the prison. There was no doubt about the extent of divine assistance Peter received in his escapes. On the other hand, when Paul was released from prison, no angel came to him and the earthquake need not have been of divine origin.
In Christianity, Jesus is believed to be the Son of God and not an angel. He is central to the religion as the savior of humanity and plays a different role than angels. Angels are considered separate created beings who serve God in various capacities.
According to Christian belief, Jesus was arrested and imprisoned before his crucifixion as part of the events leading to his ultimate sacrifice on the cross to atone for the sins of humanity, as part of God's plan for salvation.
The Christmas angel is based on the angel Gabriel who told Mary that she would have a baby; Jesus.
The Angel with the chain is Michael (the Arch Angel). He is in fact, Jesus. Jesus is putting the Devil and his demon followers in a kind of prison for one thousand years. During this thousand year period, the earth's population without the Devil's influence will have achieved perfection. Then, ...the final test!
Peter was in prison in Jerusalem when the angel appeared to him, as described in Acts 12:6-11.
The angel was Gabriel the Archangel.
Jesus did have a free will.
Peter did not break out of prison. He was released from prison by an angel. In the Acts of the Apostles we are told how Peter was put into prison by King Herod, but the night before his trial an angel appeared to him and told him to leave. Peter was chained to a guard on either side. Peter's chains fell off and he followed the angel out of the prison, thinking it was a vision or dream. The prison doors opened of their own accord, and the angel led Peter into the city. When the angel suddenly left him, Peter came to himself and returned to the house of Mary, the mother of John Mark. Herod was quite displeased when the escape was discovered so the two guards were executed.
That would be Gnosticism.
Jesus Christ
No Jesus Christ is not a angel, he is the son of God.
All of the apostles were released from prison by an angel in Acts 5:17-20, but you are probably thinking of Peter, who was imprisoned alone when released by an angel as recorded in Acts 12:5-10.
