"This Invention" - what invention? You don't mention one.
Like other early computer inventions, there is no single inventor of the motherboard. The early computers each had their own version of a motherboard.
Inventions are important because they help humans survive. An invention is a new tool or process that serves a useful purpose or does that better than earlier inventions. Several related inventions often create a new technology (i.e. a set of tools, the knowledge to make such tools, and the infrastructure needed to maintain and use these tools).
While there are earlier claimants, the encylopedia credits Sir Edmond Halley ( the astronomer Royal) of Comet Fame with the invention of the diving Bell- manned, in l7l7 ad.
A patent contains a description of the invention and claims to its unique qualities. Other parts include a title, names of the inventors, an abstract description of the invention, claims to priority from earlier filings, brief summary of the invention, description of the drawings, detailed description of the invention with references to the drawings and related inventions, one or more claims, and any necessary drawings or tabulated data. Other elements of a patent application file would include the names of the assignees (i.e., the owners of the invention, often the inventors' employer), references to "known related inventions", and other cross-references, among other things.
Lee de Forest was the inventor of the first electronic amplifying tube, the triode. His understanding of how his invention worked was far from correct, but nevertheless he had invented the first electronic valve. Rectifying tubes had been invented earlier by J A Fleming, and it was these that de Forest improved upon - magnificently.

The tin can opener was invented in 1858. This was necessary after the invention of the tin can 48 years earlier, in 1810.
Alva Fisher was credited with the invention of the electric washing machine, which reduced the amount of time it takes to do laundry; however, the U.S. patent office shows an earlier patent was issued for the device, so the inventor is unknown.
Earlier inventions that contributed to the sewing machine include the needle, which has been used for thousands of years, and the loom, which facilitated the weaving of fabric. Additionally, the thimble, used to protect fingers while sewing, and the concept of mechanized tools, as seen in devices like the spinning wheel, laid the groundwork for automating sewing processes. These innovations collectively paved the way for Elias Howe and Isaac Singer to develop the first practical sewing machines in the 19th century.
Chess evolved from earlier games. It had no inventor.
Many notable inventions have been introduced in May throughout history. For instance, the first practical typewriter was patented by Christopher Latham Sholes on June 23, 1868, but earlier prototypes were developed in May. Additionally, the invention of the first successful electric elevator by Elisha Otis was demonstrated in May 1854, revolutionizing vertical transportation. These innovations have significantly impacted communication and urban infrastructure.
