Hello! There are 3 existing species of vampire bats in the world. All 3 occur in tropical America ONLY - none in SE Asia. And since vampire bats are the only bats that may attack people, there is no way anyone can ever be attacked by a bat in SE Asia. Simple as that! The only way to get bitten by a bat from SE Asia would be to grab one with bare hands. In that case the bat may bite you in self defense.
